What's happening with the strawberries?
Here's the deal. We got a bad shipment of strawberries starters. We lost 45% of them. We had to replace the lost strawberries. The nursery where we purchased the original berries was more than gracious and discounted our bill. We are so thankful.
Many of the strawberry plants that survived are currently in a recovery phase.
Now is the time when we would be expecting our first major pick, however; due to the status of our plants, we will be expecting our first good amount of strawberries in June.

All aboard the "Orient Express" to Eggplantation. These beauties are long and slender. They are tender, delicately flavored and quick cooking.

They are more commonly known by their Western name Japanese Eggplant.

Today Olivia, Nathan, Suvetar, and Jim removed mulch pins from last year's strawberry beds. Mulch pins anchor in the plastic. They are anchored in so well we need pliers to yank them out.
